Autoship is a convenient subscription service that allows you to schedule automatic deliveries of your pet’s favorite recipes. With Autoship, you can ensure that you never run out of your pet’s food and receive them at regular intervals that work best for you.

Setting up Autoship is simple! Select your pet’s favorite recipe on openfarmpet.com and click on the ‘Autoship’ option tab on the product page. Select your desired size, quantity, and delivery frequency. Then click on the green ‘Add to Cart’ button and you can repeat this process until all your pet's favorite recipes have been added to your cart! Once ready, follow cart prompts to enter your shipping and billing information, and your Autoship subscription will be activated!

Yes, you can modify or cancel your Autoship subscription at any time prior to the next charge date. Simply log into your account on the OpenFarmPet.com and click on "My Autoships". You will notice lots of options for updating delivery schedule, adding products, swapping products or skipping your orders. If you need to cancel, you may do so at anytime by visiting "Manage Autoships".

You will be prompted to create an account after your first Autoship purchase if you don’t have one already. Once set up you can log in and manage your Autoships as described above. If you have any problems don’t hesitate to reach out to us through chat by clicking ‘Need Help?’ or email us at support@openfarmpet.com.

Yes, you’ll see notifications about your delivery 3 days before it charges, so you have time to adjust. Make sure you sign-up for SMS notifications and easily manage your orders right from your messages.

Need it sooner or much later? You can adjust the length of time between your shipments by changing the frequency of your subscription.

From your account, select ‘My Autoship’ you will see options at the top of the page to adjust the timing of your next order. If we want to adjust certain products only, click ‘Manage this autoship’ under that specific product and you will see more options to adjust quantity, product size, delivery frequency, swap or cancel.

If your order has not been processed yet, you can skip or reschedule your next order.

In your account select “My Autoships”, on the "view your next autoship order" page you will see 3 green buttons at the top of the page. You have the option to send now to expedite your order, reschedule or skip.

Yes! If you would like to try an item without subscribing, you can add a “one-time” item to your upcoming order. From your account, select ‘My Autoship’ and then scroll down to the ‘Browse all products’ at the bottom of the page. You will have an option to add the product as a one-time or autoship.

You can reset your password with a few steps if you happen to forget it. On the log-in screen, click “Forgot Password?” then enter your email address. You should receive an email from us with a link to reset. If you are still having trouble, reach out to Customer Experience team who are happy to help!

You can access your account by clicking on the account icon in the main navigation in the top right-hand corner, to the left of the bowl/cart icon. If you are browsing on mobile, you can access your account by clicking on the three stacked lines on the upper left-hand corner then scroll down to “Account”, right below the blog.

Once on the log-in screen you will be prompted to input your email address and password. Please be sure to double check spelling.

Voila! You are now in your account with quick access to view, edit, and modify your orders and subscriptions!

Once you are in your account, you can view and manage your subscriptions by selecting the “My Subscriptions” option in the menu.

If you are unable to see your subscriptions: scroll down to the footer (bottom right of our page) to ensure you are viewing your account on the correct version of the site based on your country of residence (US or CAD). Our system is built to auto-detect your country, however, if you use a VPN our system will default you to the US.

If you are used to logging into your account with a code (that got email to you) you will need to create a password to access your account. To create a password, click “Sign Up” on the log in page beneath the “Continue” button. Enter your email (use the same email that you place your orders with – this will ensure your order history is saved) and enter your new password. Your password must contain:

Once your new password is created, click continue and voila! You are now in your account with quick access to view, edit, and modify your orders and subscriptions!

AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) establishes nutrient standards that help ensure pet food is complete and balanced for specific life stages. The organization develops regulations, ingredient definitions, and labelling standards used by state and federal regulatory agencies. Open Farm follows AAFCO nutrient profiles and labelling guidelines across all our recipes to support nutritional adequacy and transparency.

WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association) is an international veterinary organization that provides educational resources and guidance to advance companion animal health. WSAVA does not approve or certify pet food brands, instead it provides questions that pet parents can use to help them make informed decisions about pet food.

WSAVA’s nutritional guidelines help pet parents evaluate pet food brands based on transparency, formulation expertise, and quality control standards. Rather than certifying or approving products, WSAVA offers questions that encourage pet parents to consider who formulates a brand’s recipes, how nutritional adequacy is established, and what safety measures are in place. Below are Open Farm’s responses to these questions.

Open Farm meets all the WSAVA guidelines for selecting a pet food, with the exception of feeding trials which are currently underway through an at-home program. Animal welfare has been non-negotiable for us since day one, and due to animal welfare concerns, we have not conducted feeding trials in the past, but have validated our recipes through digestibility, palatability, and stool study testing. In addition to our existing testing, we are proud to have now developed an at-home feeding trial approach that aligns with our values around animal welfare. See below for how Open Farm aligns with each of the WSAVA guidelines.

Yes, Open Farm employs an in-house board-certified veterinary nutritionist, Dr. Moran Tal-Gavriel, who is actively involved in recipe development and formulation decisions. Dr. Moran, BSc, DVM, DVSc, Dip. ECVCN, is one of just 100 board-certified veterinary nutritionists in North America, which are a small group of board-certified pet nutrition experts with the most advanced training in animal nutrition. Her multidisciplinary background spans clinical practice, public health, and academia, where her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. At Open Farm, Dr. Moran works alongside a team of Ph.D. board-certified companion animal nutritionists, food scientists, and veterinarians to help ensure our recipes deliver complete and balanced nutrition.

Open Farm’s diets are custom-formulated with Dr. Moran, our in-house board-certified veterinary nutritionist, and supported by a team of Ph.D. board-certified companion animal nutritionists, food scientists, and veterinarians. This multi-disciplinary approach ensures that each Open Farm recipe is not only complete and balanced but delivers functional nutrition that is carefully formulated to help pets thrive. Our animal proteins come from USDA-approved, human-grade facilities that follow biosecurity protocols and operate under government veterinary oversight.

Our manufacturing partners maintain globally recognized food safety certifications, and all finished products go through a test-and-hold process. This means nothing is released until independent third-party lab testing confirms it meets our safety and nutritional standards. We also share lot-specific pathogen testing results and ingredient sourcing details through our Transparency Tool, so pet parents can make informed decisions.

To make our food, Open Farm partners with specialized manufacturing facilities across the United States, Canada, and Iceland that meet our strict standards for quality, safety, and operational excellence. Each facility is vetted against those standards and maintains globally recognized food safety certifications, ensuring our recipes are produced in controlled environments that safeguard nutritional consistency and product integrity.

Open Farm performs digestibility, palatability, and stool studies on our recipes. We also test our recipes before production to ensure vitamins and minerals meet expected and appropriate levels to ensure pets receive optimal nutrition.

In addition, we are currently developing an at-home feeding trial program to evaluate our recipes in real home environments. Animal welfare has been a non-negotiable for us since day one, so we have taken a thoughtful approach to integrating feeding trials to ensure they align with our values. An in-home approach allows us to support animal welfare by enabling pets to participate from the comfort of their own homes, promoting natural behaviors while allowing close monitoring of key health indicators in a low-stress setting.

At this time, Open Farm has not published studies in peer-reviewed journals. However, our team continuously reviews emerging scientific literature and uses evidence-based insights to guide our formulation approach. We are also exploring opportunities to conduct future studies, including efficacy trials, with the goal of publishing peer-reviewed research as our programs evolve.

Yes, all Open Farm recipes include a Nutrition Adequacy Statement on both the product packaging and the product page. This statement indicates whether the formula is complete and balanced according to AAFCO nutrient profiles or intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding, and it specifies the appropriate species and life stage. This labeling helps pet parents clearly understand how each recipe fits into their dog or cat’s nutritional needs.

Yes, caloric information is clearly listed on product pages and on packaging for our complete and balanced diets, treats, and toppers. Energy values are provided in kilocalories of metabolizable energy (kcal ME) per kilogram, and per serving format such as per cup, carton, or pouch, based on the product type. This allows pet parents to make informed feeding decisions based on portion size and life stage.

For US Orders: If your order is over $50, you qualify for free shipping across most of the continental US. If your order less than $50, we charge a flat rate shipping fee of $5.99 for your order.

At this time we do not offer shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands.

All orders are shipped via FedEx, depending on your location your order may be shipped on the weekend.

For Canada Orders: If your order is over $50, you qualify for free shipping across all Canadian provinces. If your order less than $50, we charge a flat rate shipping fee of $5.99 for your order.

We know your pets are eagerly waiting their recipes and orders typically arrive within 1 to 4 business days! Our facility usually processes orders within 1 business days to ship out. Our carriers deliver within approximately 1 to 3 business days once shipped. Processing and transit times are not guaranteed and can be longer in certain areas or due to unforeseen delays, including weather, high volume, etc.

Please note, our frozen recipes, such as Gently Cooked, do not ship out on Thursdays to Sunday to ensure they arrive frozen. The below guideline are approximate and based off typical deliveries.

Yes, Open Farm recipes are formulated for small, medium and large breeds. Adjust your pet’s food intake according to the feeding guide on the side of your bag based on his or her age and weight.

Yes, Open Farm recipes are formulated for dogs of all life stages. We also have specific formulas for puppies and seniors too! Adjust your pet’s food intake according to the feeding guide on the side of your bag based on his or her age and weight. Please consult your vet to determine the ideal amounts to feed your pet.

Open Farm recipes do not contain any corn, wheat, soy or fillers and we offer potato free recipe options. Instead, we focus on premium meats, fish and locally sourced, Non-GMO vegetables in our highly nutritious recipes.

Yes, it is! You can rotate between our grain-free, ancient grains and limited ingredient formulations at any time without upsetting your dog’s stomach.

Ideally, you should store your food indoors, in a cool, dark place. Use a resealable container constructed of food grade plastic or tightly seal or roll the original packaging after opening. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures increases oxidation and reduces shelf life, as does exposure to direct sunlight.

Our natural flavor ingredient is dehydrated whitefish that is in a powder form and is preserved with mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E) and a touch of salt.

No, our poultry and meat are raised without the use of antibiotics and growth hormones. Our fish is always ocean caught, meaning it consumed a natural and antibiotic free diet.

Open Farm recipes are free from artificial preservatives and flavors–including Ethoxyquin. Instead, we pay a significant premium to use a Natural antioxidant that is formulated with a proprietary blend of mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E) that also provides anti-oxidants.

All ingredients are sourced out of our Toronto office and are fully traceable - we receive certificates of origin for each and every ingredient. All incoming ingredients are inspected when received at our facility, and a member of the Open Farm team is on-site for production. Our facility is inspected on an ongoing basis by our team, and independent auditors from Certified Humane and other food safety organizations. Once finished product is produced, samples are sent to a third-party lab for independent testing for salmonella, e-coli, and other mycotoxins. We do not begin bagging the product until results have been received by the lab. Yes. All of our partner farms are audited and certified in humane animal care by leading third party, non-profit organizations in the field. Our fish is exclusively ocean caught using sustainable fishing practices in accordance with Ocean Wise and Seafood Watch standards.
