Yes, it’s much colder outside and yes, the holidays are basically upon us. But for some whacky-pandemic-brained reason, the thought of 2023 being just a week away made our entire office yelp in unison.

Leading the Path for Pet Sustainability
Our mission always puts our pets and the planet first. It’s why we strive to create the highest quality products without destroying Mama Earth. This year, we’ve made some big strides towards an even more sustainable business.
1. Commitment to Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025 Our commitment focuses on managing waste within our supply chain to help divert from landfills.
2. Three new carbon offset projects This year we partnered with 3 carbon offset projects and purchased Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) that cover 100% of the electricity used across our operations! Say hi to our new partners: Georgia Avoided Forest Conversion, USA Blandin Native Hardwoods Conservation, and USA Wind Renewable Energy Credits.
3. Better Chicken Commitment In May, we made our Better Chicken Commitment, which focuses on addressing issues in chicken production and committing to better standards of care. We still have work to do to transition to slower-growing breeds by 2026 and to control atmosphere processing for 100% of our supply by 2024.
Kinder Nutrition for a Kinder Earth

New Neighborhood Pet Stores
2022 was a year for growth, and we’re going to keep expanding throughout North America (and hopefully to a pet store near you)!
Welp, that’s a wrap on 2022. If we missed anything just blame it on the countless office dogs who keep us preoccupied. From all of us at Open Farm, we wish you a happy holiday and a terrific new year!
